Short Films
I directed and produced this film for the 2023 Wisconsin Horror/Thriller 48 Hour Film Project, in Sheboygan Wisconsin. I am so proud of what our team of first-timers was able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. This short received a nomination for best score of all the 48’s, won an award for being the best entry from a first time team, and was selected for screening in the Door county film festival, competing against films that DIDN’T have to be scripted, shot, and edited in two days.
LADAMA - "Cuido Mi Raíz"
I was the cinematographer and editor for this music video. This project was a collaboration between the Belladonna Film Project, the John Michael Kohler Arts Center and the greater Sheboygan community. The musicians of LADAMA wrote a song inspired by their visit to Sheboygan, and this song was the product of their creative residency.
Sunny Leerasanthanah: Naturalization
I was inspired to make this documentary for an installation at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center by Sunny Leerasanthanah. Her exhibition, Naturalization, is a mixed media installation that presents language about invasive species in an ecological sense, and frames it in a way that it could be easily talking about issues concerning race. Combine that with the fact that she is a fellow filmmaker, well read on the history of National Parks, and great to talk to, this mini-doc was a joy to make.
My first assignment for the John Micheal Kholer Arts Center was to work in collaboration with CONTRA-TIEMPO activist dance theatre to craft a dance film.
“What if a city..” is a surreal dance film about the community of Sheboygan, where they are at, and our vision of the future. We filmed over the course of August and collaborated on the edit through September. Click here to see the official JMKAC release on Twitter
The Void
In fall 2020, amidst the pandemic, some friends and I made this short film. THE VOID is a psychological thriller filled to the brim with visual metaphors, and deals with themes of isolation and insanity.
*Content Advisory* this film does have depictions of self-harm, and mutilation at the 9:35 mark. I don’t think it’ll upset most people, but just be ready for it.
The Organizations of Communications
This short documentary is about the three student communication organizations at UW-Stevens Point. In it, I explore the organizations themselves, conduct behind-the-scenes interviews, and discover what services they provide for the community.
I hate giving quality discalimers, but I filmed this my FIRST semester at Stevens Point, and as such some of the shots and visuals aren’t up to my NOW professional standards. But, I still like it a lot, and you now what… It’s still pretty good!
SPTV Blitz
This is not so much a short film as it is a comedy sketch. While I was the creation coordinator at SPTV, I produced this parody of our news show, where due to an accident, our team has to plow through a bunch of news stories in rapid succession.
I for one think it is very funny :).
The Corner House
The Corner House is first-person slide-show short film about a quiet house on the corner lot. Something is not quite right about that place, but for some reason, YOU go investigating.
In one of my production classes, we where challenged to individually create a short film utilizing photographs. I’ll be the first to admit that it’s not the greatest, but under these constraints and a quick production cycle, I think it turned out nicely.
